PureNet hopes to paddle to victory in support of four local charities.
A team of paddlers from PureNet, the York-based award-winning Ecommerce Solutions Company, have signed up to take part alongside 35 local teams in this year’s Dragon Boat Challenge!
On Sunday 12th July 17 members of the PureNet team will be climbing aboard a dragon boat and hoping to paddle to victory along the River Ouse in York.
The York Dragon Boat Challenge has been held annually since 2003 by The York Rotary Club, during that time the event has raised close to £800,000 for a whole host of worthwhile charities.
The day consists of three heats, the teams with the fastest times are then given the chance to compete in the grand finale at 3:30pm with hopes to take home the Challenge Trophy.
PureNet have entered the Dragon Boat Challenge in support of their two chosen charities; Shelter and Jack Raine Community Foundation. The proceeds raised by PureNet will also go towards the two charities nominated by The York Rotary Club; Martin House Hospice and Door 84 Centre for Youth. PureNet will be raising as much money as possible for these causes with the total raised already at £865.
PureNet’s Chief Executive, Dr Paul Gibson, said: “We are extremely proud to be a part of such a great local event and we are delighted to raise funds for four fantastic charities. I wish all our team the very best of luck and the rest of our team will there to support our paddlers from the river bank!”
“We are thankful for all the support and donations we have received so far and we look forward to seeing everyone compete on the day!’’
PureNet will be keeping people updated on Sunday with tweets and images after each race so you can track their progress.
There is still time to donate to PureNet’s cause at PureNet’s Virgin Giving page.
